D-Media Network and Screen South, supported by the UK Film Council (Lottery Fund) and the the North Sea Screen Partnership (Interreg IV B) are looking for 10 of the most innovative projects which use digital media to support film. Interested applicants should apply before the 14th March 2011.

D-Media will select 10 projects to be brought to London for our 1 day Film and Digital Inventions Lab on the 28th March 2011. Here participants will be given support and guidance to further develop their projects, facilitated by Frank Boyd (Crossover/Unexpected Media) working with leading creatives in the UK digital media industry.

As part of the film lab, D-Media will be able to broker access to relevant partners for each of the participants as well as explore  relevant finance solutions for the projects.

Following the Lab, each participant will pitch to a panel of industry professionals who will select one project to receive £3000 seed money to support further development.

The D-Media film lab and pitching event offers 10 projects with;

•             Expert Development support

Partnering brokerage – help to find the right partners

The opportunity to refine their projects under the expert tutalage of digital media professionals.

To receive feedback from funding partners at an early stage in the project's development.

Exposure to some of the most creative and experienced minds in the industry.

The opportunity to present their project to a group of their peers for feedback and encouragement.

One selected project will receive £3,000 additional support to help them further develop their project.  Plus 1 years free membership to D-Media Network.  We can help them with introductions to the right people, access to finance, international markets and "money can't buy" networking events.

Taking part in this lab is a great start for digital media companies who will be helped at every stage of development to give them the best possible chance of success.

Interested applicants should reply to kim.weinreich@d-media-network.com  with a short pitch about their project and what they believe they need to progress it forward, in terms of funding and partners.

The 10 participants will be selected on the 14th March 2011.

The 1 day Lab will take place on the 28th March 2011

Pitches to the Panel will take place the following day during the first day of the D-Media Conference at BAFTA

Each of the 10 finalists will be given a free place at the two day conference on the 29th and 30th of March 2011.

During the conference each participant will be appointed a D-Media Ambassador who will have pre-determined helpful introductions to make for you during your time at the conference with potential projects partners and/or funding partners.

Before the Lab all finalists will be given access to the Online Community where you will create personal profiles to further explain your projects and what you are looking for. Here you will also be able to interact with each other and with D-Media Ambassadors.

The single project selected for further support will be announced during the evening of the 29th, at the D-Media Awards Dinner. That project will receive £3,000 additional support towards the development of their project.  They will also receive 1 years free membership to D-Media Network.
