Day event designed to help creative industry companies, including arts organisations and digital content businesses, discover the opportunities and funding available to them. This with the intention of companies collaborating with universities to develop projects and/or support company development.

Creative Industries: Collaborating for Innovation - Funding and Opportunities for University Partnerships -

This day event in Portsmouth is designed for creative industry companies including arts organisations and digital content companies.
This is a free event to provide attendees with the contacts, insights, inspiration and information they need to collaborate with universities and to find the funding to support them to do this.
Booking is essential to secure a place. To book, please fill in the 'Register Interest' information requested in the panel to the right. Registering your interest automatically books you a place. If you are not a member of SEMN, you will be prompted to become one in order to book.
The purpose of the event is two-fold: . to promote the funding available to creative industry companies, including digital content businesses and arts organisations, wishing to work with universities on innovative projects and business partnerships . to facilitate the development of these partnerships through presenting university expertise in the sector, running a related partner 'match-making' session and discussing the issues precluding partnership development and how to overcome them.
The event will feature: . an overview of access to funding to support engagement with universities focusing primarily on public funding . a presentation of the government's Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) scheme which offers match funding to businesses to engage with universities and higher education institutes in order to innovate and improve their competitive position . an introduction to the new innovation voucher scheme which offers funding for short-term engagement with universities and higher education institutes . short presentation from each of four universities - Portsmouth, Southampton, Southampton Solent and Winchester - presenting their expertise in the sector and what they can offer a business partnership + one-to-one informal sessions . a discussion on the opportunities and challenges of partnership engagement followed by a case study of successful collaboration.
This event is delivered by South East Media Network (SEMN) in partnership with Arts Council England - South East, the University of Portsmouth and its associate universities, the Creative Industries Business Advisory Service (CIBAS) at Portsmouth, and SEEDA, the regional development agency.
